Pengfei Lei, MD (Orthopaedic Surgery)

Dr. Pengfei Lei is an Orthopaedic surgeon and PhD candidate from Xiangya Hospital, Central South University, Changsha, China. He is specialized in Adult Joint Reconstruction Surgery and related fundamental researches. He joined BWH Harvard University as a clinical research fellow in Jan 2015 and focused on hip and knee surgery. For fundamental research, he focused on the application of tissue engineering technology for bone and cartilage regeneration, especially on developing stem cell-laden hydrogels with prevascularised and precise controlled 3D structure using micropatterning and bioprinting technology to repair bone or cartilage defects.

Dr. Lei is currently a section editor of Annals of Translational Medicine(Pubmed), the member of  ICJR, ORS, BMES, ICRS and Chinese Association of Orthopaedic Surgeon. He is the first author of 8 peer review publications in the main scientific journals.
