Dr. Dania Nachira graduated in Medicine from Catholic University of the Sacred Hearth (UCSC) in Rome (Italy) in 2010.
She worked as resident in the Department of General Thoracic Surgery at “A.Gemelli” University Hospital in Rome and, after a three - month fellowship program in Uniportal-VATS (Dr.M.Ismail) and Robotic Surgery (Prof J.Rückert) at the Department of Thoracic Surgery at Charité in Berlin, she got her General Thoracic Surgery degree from Catholic University of Sacred Hearth in 2016.
Dr. Nachira is currently Thoracic Surgeon at the Department of General Thoracic surgery of “A.Gemelli” University Hospital in Rome.
She authored many publications and comments in international peer reviewed journals like Annals of Thoracic Surgery, European Journal of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Thorax, Journal of Thoracic Oncology etc and also several book chapters.
Her research area deals with lung cancer, lung metastases, thymic pathology, hyperhidrosis, chest wall tumors and reconstruction, bronchopleural fistulas, esophageal cancer, robotic surgery and Uniportal- VATS surgery.
Dr. Nachira played an important role in starting Uniportal-VATS program at “A.Gemelli” University hospital in Rome and in organizing the “First Roman Tips and Tricks in Thoracic Surgery- Uniportal VATS Major lung resections” Course endorsed by Italian Society of Thoracic Surgery and Italian VATS Group.
