Dr. Fabio Davoli has been serving as a Consultant Thoracic Surgeon at the S.Maria delle Croci Hospital of Ravenna since 2016 to 2021. Actually he is a Consultant Thoracic Surgeon at the Rizzoli Institute of Bologna.
His main surgical activities are focused on surgeyr of the chest wall, minimally invasive video-assisted thoracic surgery as well as the surgical treatment of locally advanced NSCLC.
Dr. Davoli obtained his Medical Doctor Degree from the University of Bologna in 2005; from 2006 to 2010 he spent his Residency in General Thoracic Surgery at the S.Orsola-Malpighi Hospital of Bologna. He was a fellow of the PhD Experimental Program in Surgical Sciences of the University of Bologna for three years, obtaining his PhD Degree in 2014.
In 2013 he was a Visiting Physician at the Mayo Clinic Department of Thoracic Surgery in Rochester (US). In 2017 he was a fellow of the Thoracic Surgery Division of the Tirol-Kliniken of Innsbruck (AT) and in 2018 he held a II Level Degree Master in VATS Lobectomy at the University of L’Aquila.
He is a member of The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS), the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS) and the Italian Society of Thoracic Surgeons (SICT).
Until now, he wrote several SCI papers and served as a reviewer for many indexed journals. He had an ESTS Awarded Scholarship in 2013 and won one SICT Award for the best communication of the Biology of Lung Cancer Session during the 2014 Italian Congress. His main research fields are focused on biology and surgical treatment of lung cancer, chest malignancies, mini-invasive thoracic surgery and surgical devices.
