‘Journal of Xiangya Medicine’—launching remarks

Ever since its establishment 110 years ago, a common, prominent characteristic of the Xiangya Hospital DNA has been international collaboration and exchange. While flowing along with the tide, Xiangya is mindful of the direction of the sea. In the ocean of globalization, Xiangya is more than a permanent beacon of hope, but an inevitable choice of the reality. Having brought a modern medical education system to the east a century ago, Xiangya will remain committed to internationalize Chinese medicine, its historical responsibilities and current duties.

Based on this inheritance and international collaboration, we launched Journal of Xiangya Medicine. Journal of Xiangya Medicine, China’s first English-language medical journal named after a hospital, is an international and comprehensive journal. It is designed as an open access and peer review journal publishing up-to-date information in medicine and surgery. Journal of Xiangya Medicine offers the best interpretation and inheritance to Xiangya’s internationalization DNA and aims to serve as a communication platform for healthcare professionals around the world.

I sincerely hope the journal’s editorial panel will grasp the global trend of medical development, adhere to the spirits of justice, integrity, humility, rigorousness, unity and enterprise, and seek global excellence by making Journal of Xiangya Medicine as an internally prestigious journal. That goal, ambitiously indeed, requires persistent and determined efforts. I believe this goal must come true with the joint efforts from editorial board members, editors and authors.
